NCA Awards $64,500 in College Scholarships

David Papadopulo

The Nevada Contractors Association’s David Papadopulo Memorial Scholarship program has awarded over $64,500 to junior and senior-level college students pursuing a construction related career.

The program was created in 2007 to honor David “Pappy” Papadopulo, a construction executive and industry leader, who died on November 6, 2006. He was 38. Papadopulo, a former vice president with Olson Precast Co., served on the NCA Board of Directors. He believed education was critical to industry’s future. It’s a belief that NCA and its members share.

Scholarship recipients must be enrolled in either the civil engineering or construction management departments, and maintain a minimum 2.5 grade-point-average or higher. Scholarship awards will pay for student tuition, books and living expenses.
