Contractors Board Disciplines Four Contractors

 

At its meeting on April 20, 2011, the Nevada State Contractors Board adjudicated cases involving four contractors.

A Best Concrete Inc., license number 68647 (Concrete Contracting), based out of Las Vegas, NV, was found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624 for substandard workmanship; failure to take appropriate corrective action; failure to include the Residential Recovery Fund information on a contract or proposal; failure to respond to a written request from the Board; and failure to keep in force a bond or cash deposit.  The licensee was fined $1,200 and ordered to pay investigative costs.  The license was suspended until a compiled financial statement with bank verification for all cash accounts that supports the license limit is provided to the Board, and a new surety bond is acquired.    

Strickland Construction Co. Inc., license numbers 40173, 40277 and 40480 (Residential & Small Commercial, Drill Wells, Install Pumps and Pressure Tan and Individual Sewerage), based out of Pahrump, 

NV, was found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624 for substandard workmanship; failure to take appropriate corrective action; failure to complete a construction project in accordance with the plans and specifications; accepting a bid from an unlicensed person; failure to include the monetary license limit or license number on a contract or proposal; and for the partnership, corporation, firm or association participating in a prohibited act.  The licensee was fined $1,300 and ordered to pay $13,774 in restitution. License number 40173 was suspended.

R & D Kowalski Corp., dba Poolworks Repair Services, license number 45566 (Maintenance Repair of Pools & Spas), based out of Las Vegas, NV, was found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624 for failure to establish financial responsibility.  Fines and costs were not assessed, as the licensee is in Chapter 13 Bankruptcy.  The license was suspended until a compiled financial statement with bank verification for all cash accounts that supports the license limit is provided to the Board. 

Summit Fire Protection Inc., dba Mojave Fire Protection, license number 33380 (Automatic Fire Sprinklers), based out of Las Vegas, NV, was found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624 for failure to establish financial responsibility. Fines and costs were not assessed, as the licensee is in Chapter 7 Bankruptcy.  The license was revoked.
