Three Contractors Disciplined By Contractors Board

At its meeting on April 6, 2011, the Nevada State Contractors Board adjudicated cases involving three contractors.

J N C Development Inc., license number 54425 (Residential & Small Commercial), based out of Reno, NV, was found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624 for failure to pay any money due for any materials or services rendered; diversion of funds; failure to notify the Board of a bankruptcy; failure to respond to a written request from the Board; and failure to establish financial responsibility. The licensee was fined $3,800 and ordered to pay investigative costs. The license was revoked.

Two Unlicensed Contractors Cited In Joint Sting

The Nevada State Contractors Board cited two unlicensed contractors for contracting without a license in a joint sting operation involving the City of Reno Building Department and the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.   

Joseph Messineo, “Best Work In Town,” was advertising on a local bulletin board for a number of trades, including painting and staining, without a license. When an undercover NSCB investigator telephoned Messineo, he told the investigator he was currently on a remodel project with two other people. Messineo agreed to have another painter contact the investigator. Shortly after the conversation with Messineo, Ricardo Bravo

Contractors Board Disciplines Four Contractors

 

At its meeting on April 20, 2011, the Nevada State Contractors Board adjudicated cases involving four contractors.

A Best Concrete Inc., license number 68647 (Concrete Contracting), based out of Las Vegas, NV, was found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624 for substandard workmanship; failure to take appropriate corrective action; failure to include the Residential Recovery Fund information on a contract or proposal; failure to respond to a written request from the Board; and failure to keep in force a bond or cash deposit.  The licensee was fined $1,200 and ordered to pay investigative costs.  The license was suspended until a compiled financial statement with bank verification for all cash accounts that supports the license limit is provided to the Board, and a new surety bond is acquired.

Four Contractors Disciplined By Contractors Board

 

At its May 11, 2011 meeting, the Nevada State Contractors Board adjudicated cases involving four contractors.

Coca Electric Co., license number 52259A (Electrical Contracting), based out of Wells, NV, was found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624 for failure to establish good character by committing any act which would be grounds for denial, suspension or revocation of a contractor’s license; failure to keep in place a bona fide member or employee, who exercises authority in connection with the license; and failure to establish financial responsibility.  The licensee was fined $3,000 and ordered to pay investigative costs. The license was revoked.

Monge Construction, license number 47760 (Residential & Small Commercial), based out of Minden, NV, was found in violation of Nevada Revised Statute 624 for failure to respond to a written request from the Board.  The licensee was fined $250 and ordered to obtain a new bond and provide a financial statement within 60 days or the license will be suspended.
