Cashman Equipment Co. has partnered with Terex Bid-Well to sell concrete equipment, parts, and service in Nevada. They are the first company in North America to do so. Terex Bid-Well previously only sold direct to customers.
Las Vegas Paving Corp. recently completed a $474,000 upgrade to the Buchanan Boulevard/U.S. Highway 93 intersection in Boulder City.
ValleyCrest Landscape Cos. won a Professional Landcare Network construction award for its work at the 67-acre CityCenter resort complex on Las Vegas Boulevard.
Sletten Construction’s Las Vegas office recently completed 1 million manhours of work without an employee injury or incident. That equals to company crews working almost 3.5 years with no missed days.
Frehner Construction Co. recently completed a two-year, $46 million Las Vegas roadway upgrade that entailed widening Decatur Boulevard to six lanes between the Las Vegas Beltway and Blue Diamond Road. Other work consisted of traffic signals at Decatur and Warm Springs Road, along with two new railroad bridges and drainage upgrades. CH2M-Hill was the engineer.
Southland Industries is performing a $5 million fire-sprinkler upgrade to Las Vegas Convention and Visitor Authority's north and central halls at 3150 Paradise Road. Work will finish in early 2013.
The Las Vegas Redevelopment Agency completed $311 million in projects during fiscal year 2010 that created 1,144 construction jobs and 1,924 permanent positions. Major projects include the $18.2 million, 20,000-square-foot Bonneville Transit Center at 101 E. Bonneville Ave.; the $80 million, 61,000-square-foot Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health at 855 W. Bonneville Ave.; and a $150 million, 25-story Golden Nugget hotel-casino addition at 129 Fremont St.
Beazer Homes recently agreed to pay a $925,000 fine to resolve alleged Clean Water Act violations at its construction sites in 21 states, including Nevada. As part of the settlement, Beazer will institute a companywide program to improve stormwater runoff at current and future job sites nationwide. Beazer ranked 10th among valley builders in the third quarter with 146 new home sales, Las Vegas-based Home Builders Research reports.
Tutor Perini Corp., owner of Perini Building Co., has bought Fisk Electric Co. for $105 million in cash plus an amount to be determined based upon Fisk's operating results for 2011-2013. Perini and Fisk both worked on the $8.5 billion CityCenter development and other local projects. Fisk is a privately held Houston-based electrical construction company, with fiscal year 2010 revenues of approximately $305 million and a backlog of $190 million.
